New Volunteers training
To make sure our volunteers are ready to give the families the best possible support, Home-Start Southwark offers a high-quality preparation training. The course runs once a week over a 6-week period and covers following modules:

1. Introduction to HSS
2. Values and Attitudes, Listening and Communication
3. Supporting Parents
4. Meeting the Needs of Children (including B2B, BHBF, REAL)
5. Safeguarding and Protecting Children
6. Confidentiality and Bringing the Course to a Close
Our next Volunteer Prep Course
Autumn Prep Course 2025:
The hybrid training consists of 2 in person sessions and 8 remote e-learning sessions at your pace.
The in person sessions will take place on Mondays: 13th October, 17th November between 10am and 2pm.

These sessions cover all aspects of family support so volunteers are ready to help parents give their children the best start in life.
