Training for new volunteers
To make sure our volunteers are ready to give the families the best possible support, Home-Start Southwark offers a high-quality preparation training. The course covers following modules:

2. Values and Attitudes, Listening and Communication
3. Supporting Parents
4. Meeting the Needs of Children (including B2B, BHBF, REAL)
5. Safeguarding and Protecting Children
6. Confidentiality and Bringing the Course to a Close
Our next Volunteer Prep Course
Summer Prep Course 2026:
This hybrid training consists of two in-person sessions supported by remote e-learning at your pace.
