NJC scale point 43 – £38,237 plus ILW £3,473 (pro-rata) 3-4 days per week flexible.
Closing date: 12noon, Friday 31 March 2017
This is a fantastic leadership role for someone with the right experience, expertise, integrity and passion. For over twenty years Home-Start Southwark has prevented family crisis and breakdown by supporting parents as they learn to cope, improve their confidence and build better lives for their children in Southwark’s most deprived areas. We achieve this by training local volunteers to provide parenting support, encouragement and professional friendship in people’s homes and through support groups and structured early intervention work in the community.
We have restructured our service, gained funding for the next three years and have developed an Income Strategy. We now need an experienced and influential Director with a passion for working with families to lead the organisation forward to a sustainable future.
The ideal applicant will have a background in senior management and in-depth knowledge of child development, parenting and developing volunteering opportunities. We are keen to attract candidates with an entrepreneurial flair to enable our growth to include new and creative approaches to income generation and service delivery.
The successful candidate will have:
- A strong track record of leadership in the charity or public sector including a positive and productive working relationship with trustees
- Outstanding people management skills and a collaborative working style
- Demonstrable success at a high level of responsibility
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- Experience of managing a budget of comparable scale (£270K pa)
- An understanding of the range of funding opportunities for family support service
